POINTED REMARQUES will produce swashbuckling plays written or set in the years 1575-1830. The first full production was THE THREE MUSKETEERS, staged in October of this year. Also planned is a summer weekend festival of original one-act swashbuckling plays, selected through a national contest, as well as a Madrigal Feaste.

Future productions may include ROMEO AND JULIET, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, and THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK, as well as original full-length works.

This is a non-profit education-based company (that means none of us are paid yet; sorry). We are looking for a solid corps of 12-15 actors, preferably 2/3 male. We have half of the company of performers already, but are looking for more. Priority will be given to talented and trained stage combat performers. Dance/movement training is also a plus. In keeping with our educational mission, we hope to have at least 1/3 of the company comprised of students ages 15-21.

POINTED REMARQUES will perform at festivals and schools as part of its educational mission. Company members will be expected to take part in these events. Experienced company members will also be expected to train student members of the company.

We are also soliciting talented technical and design personnel in the following areas: scenic/lighting designer, technical director, sound designer, marketing/publicity designer, stage manager, wardrobe assistant. Musicians who can play period-appropriate instruments are needed, along with singers.
