ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, FIGHT DIRECTOR, PLAYWRIGHT
Having earned a BA in Theatre and an MA in Fine Arts, Terry then spent 6 years in the U. S Army, paying off the loans. After having his fill of Airborne School, OCS, and living in the German woods 6 months out of every year, he returned to pick up with his original plan, teaching English and Theatre. In 2000 he became Artistic Director of Longmont Theatre Company's A TASTE OF SHAKESPEARE troupe. Under his guidance the group became a company, added an education program, developed a singing group, established a charitable presence with FOOD FIGHT, and performed Shakespeare plays up and down Colorado's Front Range in parks, schools, and at festivals. He has directed over 30 productions (from HAMLET to ONCE UPON A MATTRESS); has performed in well over 100 (from being an Indian dancer in a 2nd grade pageant--"missed the first entrance I ever had on a stage!"--to to being a company member at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival); and as a playwright has published 3 books and had productions in Europe, New York City, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Illinois. This summer you can find him as William Shakespeare at the Colorado Renaissance Festival. Terry has taught theatre at the university, high school, and middle school levels and has run workshops in acting and stage combat in Europe and the U.S. A recognized Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors, he has trained in rapier and dagger, sword and shield, unarmed (Western and Asian styles), single sword, broadsword, smallsword, quarterstaff, knife, cased rapiers, whip, katana, escrima sticks, and aikido. His fight directing credits include HAMLET, MACBETH, ROMEO AND JULIET, THE THREE MUSKETEERS, and CYRANO DE BERGERAC, as well as GUYS AND DOLLS, THE MIRACLE WORKER, MOON OVER BUFFALO, and A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, among many others.
